In the early 1980's, Jean Watkins decided that she could make a better brand of varnish. As a decorative painter, she knew what crafters needed from a varnish and was determined to create it. Along with her then 9 year old son Kevin, Jean started out by driving cross country stopping at every tole and craft shop they could find to tell them about the varnish. Jean said "I remember the first warehouse. I wondered what I was doing, but I had a dream and a little kid who thought we could do it."

In 1993, Jean sold J.W. etc. but stayed on as a sales representative and continues to travel teaching about the product line. As a result of her continuous travels and work at conventions, Jean has been able to get to know some of the best and brightest talent in the decorative painting industry.

In 1997, Jean became active on the internet through her membership to a tole painting email list. She decided to combine her love of decorative painting with the internet to create this innovative site - a one stop shop for finding packets from all your favorite artists!
